“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
Lauren Daddona is an Advanced Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and has run the Médoc Marathon four times. Since 2022, she has led the trip’s wine program, guiding runners and guests through Bordeaux’s châteaux, grapes, and traditions. Behind the scenes, she helps with logistics and serves as a French-speaking liaison with local partners.
Lauren’s love of France began at Bowdoin College, where she studied Romance Languages and Art History and studied in Paris. She went on to work at Christie’s auction house in New York before launching a career in wine. She was Wine Director at L’Espalier in Boston for five years, built the opening wine programs at some of Boston’s top restaurants, and was named Boston Magazine’s Best Sommelier in 2017.
Today, Lauren works with a boutique European wine importer, advises a wine services company working across the US and Europe, and is completing her MBA at Babson College. She has guest lectured at Boston University’s Elizabeth Bishop Wine School, and her travels have taken her to vineyards across Europe, South America, New Zealand, and the US. She looks forward to sharing Bordeaux with you, one glass and one kilometer at a time.
