It’s no secret that runners love to read books on running and motivation. And it’s no surprise that many of these books have earned best sellers bragging right — the running community spans the globe, after all! You can find everything from cookbooks for runners to the science and psychology of running to a memoir by the creator of a global running empire.

Today we’re beyond excited to share the newest book on running. Tales From The Trails: Runners’ Stories that Inspire and Transform is packed with heartfelt stories from Michael Clinton and 20 other impressive contributors including one very special contributor — our fearless Founder Kelly McLay!

When Michael Clinton, one of Kelly’s mentors and friends, reached out with the opportunity to contribute in a future book about inspirational stories around why we run, Kelly (although a little intimidated) was thrilled at the opportunity. Tales from the Trails will be released on September 30th, 2019 (you can pre-order on Amazon now), and here’s a short teaser...

Michael Clinton, president and publishing director for Hearst Magazines, urges people to consider running more than just an exercise. For him, it’s a test of mental and physical endurance. Clinton, the author of nine other books and an impressive globetrotter, says that running is a way to connect with the environment while also feeling a part of a different community. Clinton admits that he never failed to leave his running shoes at home as he traveled to over 126 countries across all seven continents.

His book, Tales From The Trails, features inspiring stories from himself as well as 20 other contributors including Michael Capiraso, president and CEO of the New York Road Runners, and two-time seven continent marathoner Kelly McLay. The stories shared reveal how running along international trails can lead to more than just a finish line. Some found love, others found God; nonetheless, Clinton’s book is filled with 240 pages of self-realization, growth, and perseverance.

In addition to Kelly’s inspiring story earning a coveted spot in Clinton’s book, Women’s Health selected her story to run in the magazine’s September edition, coinciding with the September launch of the book. Women’s Health magazine is on stands now!

Can’t wait for September 30th? We get it. : ) We rounded up a handful of other articles, blog features, and press coverage on Kelly and FIT below. Happy reading & happy running!
